A Post for Ann

Ann, this is Graham and Olivia playing together in their room. It has all the things you like- Olivia, Graham, Olivia using her sweet voice, Olivia trying to hug and pick up Graham, Graham trying to make her stop, other stuff...

The night of the Denmark soccer game against Germany, Olivia asked to wear her Denmark shirt to bed. She wanted Graham to wear his too. I don't even remember telling her that Denmark was playing but she must have known! Unfortunately Denmark lost, despite the kids' support!

Dadoo

When Matthew and I were dating I was not sure if he would make a good dad. In my defense, he always mentioned how much he hated kids and had a particular love for zombie babies in movies and at the Spirit Halloween Superstore. I came to find out over the last 3+ years since having Olivia that Matthew is the best dad I could have ever imagined. Olivia and Graham just adore him. He is such a sucker for them too. I am very aware of how blessed I am to have such a good husband and father to my children. Happy Father's Day, Matthew! I love you!

Olivia started going to school at a Danish school near our apartment for about 4 hours a day . We really want Olivia to learn Danish and this is the best way to do it. She really loves it! The school is really nice because it has all these fun toys and art and music to participate in. All the kids and teachers speak Danish all day, everyday. The teachers speak English too, of course, so they can help Olivia to know what is going on until she picks up the language. The outside is really nice too. It is all green and hilly and there is a slide and swings and other playground type toys. When I go to pick her up she is always happy and tired out from running around. We feel really lucky to have found such a fun environment for her. This is Olivia in our apartment getting ready to leave for school on her first day.

Walking to school...

There was a Summer party on Olivia's second day and we stayed and got to know other kids and their parents. Here I am helping her hammer a nail.

Video of the kids and teachers practicing a song that they sang later that day for the Summer party.

Graham's First Birthday - part 3

Graham likes dogs.

Graham's First Birthday - part 2

Graham turned one year old on June 1st. We did not have an official party for him until about a week later, so we did things that he really likes to do during the week up to his party. Our friends Mike and Lene and their sons Samuel and Magnus came over for the small party. Graham got his own cake to eat and destroy.

Olivia picked out this dog (above) for Graham. He sleeps with it now.

The party was a lot of fun. Graham ate a bunch of the cake but mostly dumped it on the floor. Later that day Olivia and Graham played on their own for a little bit.

Olivia played hide and seek with Graham and found a really good hiding spot.

Another day in the Week of Graham we went to the cemetery right by our house and played with the kids.

We also practiced walking with Graham- he can take about 10 steps on his own.

The Copenhagen Fire Department has open houses all over Copenhagen every Summer. We took the kids there- again to celebrate Graham's birthday. I think he really liked all the noise and commotion.

Olivia really loved celebrating Graham's birthday with him. It was such a fun week!
